Executive Summary

Professional NeTworks, Inc was incorporated in Virginia in 1998 to provide our clients with the highest quality Network Integration and Technical support for Information Technology infrastructure.  The company is headquartered in Galax, Virginia and has a satellite office in Wytheville, Virginia.  Our service footprint consists of a sixty-mile radius from either office location which includes Southwest Virginia and Northwest North Carolina.  The company employs twenty-two employees and two part-time employees between the two facilities.

 

For nine years, Professional NeTworks Inc. (ProNets) has been providing network support services to Twin County area businesses and has developed a Standard of Service for our customer base which focuses on performance, reliability, and cost effectiveness.  Over the years our experience has grown from managing the IT needs of small and medium businesses to designing and deploying community wide infrastructures in order to support the access needs of thousands of customers.  In 2003 ProNets designed, built and launched its regional ISP, Wiredog, to support thousands of customers’ Internet access needs.  Wiredog has grown over the years from a dialup ISP to a network service provider capable of supporting a mixture of broadband access options for our customer base via wireless, DSL, and Fiber infrastructures.

 

Currently ProNets Communications fulfills the access requirements of over two thousand satisfied customers.  We staff ten full-time technicians locally to handle helpdesk customer support needs, as well as repair and expansion of outside plant infrastructure.  We have employed an automated billing package for provisioning and billing needs for our entire network.

 

ProNets Communications was awarded a 10 year contract in 2006 to be the Network Manager for the Independence Fiber Project in Independence, Virginia.  The project was a pilot program that was funded by grant funds from the ARC and the Tobacco Commission along with local supporting funds.  This network was designed to support the business district of Independence as an Open Service Provider network.  Currently one service provider is offering service on this network.  With the initial funding, fifty businesses/buildings had fiber installed for access to the network.  To date, nearly fifty percent of the businesses connected are using services on the network. 


Our Management Team

 

John Ayers, Jr. – President / CEO– 15+ years experience Computer/Networking Support.

John has been working in the technology industry since 1991. His background includes Project Management, Business development, Lead Contract Management for technical support for 20+ small and medium businesses.   He helped found two other local computer/networking businesses before starting Professional NeTworks in 1998.  His experience in business management, sales, and technical support helped create a firm foundation for the company early.  He maintains various industry and manufacturer certifications for the products and services provided by the company.  As the President, John will be the person to negotiate any agreements or contracts on behalf of Professional NeTworks, Inc.

 

Matt Haga - MCSE, CCNA– CTO / Network Services Manager – 13+ years experience Computer/Networking/Security/Systems Administration

Matt graduated Cum Laude from Emory & Henry College in 1995 where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics.

Matt has been working in the technology industry since 1995. His background includes consulting, project management, contract management, network engineering, security auditing, database development and systems administration. He has performed work for various organizations in the Washington DC area including the Department of Defense, the Air Force – EFX Task Force, Assistant Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Logistics Reinvention and Modernization, Office of the Ocean Executive Agent for Modeling and Simulation, Digital Knowledge Environment – research into artificial intelligence, and the National Guard Bureau – DARPA Simulation in Training for Advanced Readiness experiment. His experience in the local area includes assisting in the creation and maintenance of two independent Internet service providers (ISPs), working with various local businesses, school systems, hospitals, etc. in developing and maintaining their technology infrastructure. He has also worked locally in conjunction with Research Triangle Institute, and The Futures Group International on various census, and reproductive health database projects which provided statistical information to governments in developing countries.

 

Tonya Reavis – Web Department/Marketing Manager - 16 years experience in Design & Business Management (6+ years in Web Development)

Tonya pursued an Art major & General Business minor at Lincoln Memorial University for 2 years and then graduated from Radford University in 1992 with a B.S. degree in Art/Graphic Design and a minor in Business. Since then she has been involved in several different design related businesses including the graphic design/printing industry, Internet e-commerce, gift shop owner and design/manufacturing business owner. She created a line of primitive soft-sculpt figures (the Appalachian Nostalgia Collection) which were carried in 300+ gift shops worldwide.

 

She has been employed at Professional Networks for 8 years developing and managing 400+ E-Commerce, Multi-media and Informational websites & domains, as well as creating & implementing search engine optimization & submission methods. She also oversees the Marketing Department and the Retail Division. Tonya is proficient in the Macromedia Suite of Web Design Tools (Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Flash, Freehand and Contribute), CorelDraw, Photoshop, Photo Impact, Peachtree Accounting, Microsoft Word and other industry related software.
 
Ronnie Reynolds, MCP – Contract Manager– 16+ years experience in Computer/Networking Support.
Ronnie has been working in the technology industry since 1989. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information.  He started in the industry as a computer programmer.  He later operated a computer store for 10 years.  During these ten years he provided computer services to several small businesses.  These services included Windows and Novell networking, PC installs, repairs and upgrades, software installations, software troubleshooting, software updates, training, and Internet solutions.  He has worked at Professional Networks, Inc. since February 2004.  While at Professional Networks, Inc. he has installed and/or maintained the following:  Windows NT, 2000, and 2003 Servers, networking components, Microsoft Windows XP, 2000, ME, 98, and 95 workstations, wireless networks, cable and DSL high speed internet connections, Veritas Backup Exec, Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition, Peachtree, QuickBooks, etc. 
 

Currie Billings - MCP– Service Manager – 3 years experience Computer/Networking Support and 2 years of technical education.

Currie graduated from Wytheville Community College in 2004, with two associate’s degrees in Computer Networking and in Computer Programming as well as a certificate in web design. She started her internship at Professional Networks in January 2004 and was hired full time upon completion.  Initially, she was technical support for Wiredog customers and assisted in the development of web pages.  Since, she has moved up to Network Contract Manager and is now handling a full load of customer contracts and currently working towards her certifications.  She also handles contract scheduling and oversees our other Contract Managers.

 

Closing:

Professional NeTworks, Inc.  is a well established network infrastructure support company based in Galax, Virginia.  ProNets has industry certified and very experienced technical support and administration staff who currently maintain hundreds of networks and thousands of end users with great success in this region.  We feel that the best choice for the management of the RIFA network should be a company that knows the area, the people and the business environment.
