Position: Computer Network Field Technician

Position Requirements:

  • 2+ years supporting & maintaining client server networks
  • One or more of the following certifications is desirable: MCP, MCSE, CCNA, A+, Security+, Cisco CCNA, Cisco CCDA
  • Microsoft Server Solutions Experience (Active Directory, MS Exchange, DHCP, DNS, IIS, SQL, File Sharing & Printing) in a Windows domain environment
  • Working knowledge of wired & wireless LAN technologies and TCP/IP networking
  • Experience with a network involving Cisco routing & switching
  • Good network troubleshooting skills (Desktops, Laptops, Servers, Security, Wireless, Routers, Firewalls, Switches & Other Network Devices)
  • Familiarity with structured cabling
  • Positive attitude with strong desire to excel
  • Ability to manage time effectively & efficiently
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing environments
  • Linux knowledge helpful, but not required

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Technical Account Manager Assistance  
    • Aid in managing designated MSP (Managed Service Provider) clients:
    • Manage client tickets/issues through an online IT ticket system
    • Perform remote support
    • Conduct onsite visits
    • Conduct scheduled field visits & perform maintenance & repair tasks
    • onvolvement in the planning & engineering of projects
    • Coordination with Help Desk on issues where necessary
    • Assistance in the evaluation of current networks to identify deficiencies
    • Optimization of existing network performance via monitoring & management
    • Consultation with clients on technology need
  • Verbal and written communication with clients and team, as well developing a good relationship with clients
  • Troubleshooting Client/Server Network devices
  • Assist with internal technical training when necessary
  • Following company procedures and practices, as well as developing new processes
  • Clear, concise documentation

The applications we use daily are:

  • ConnectWise (PSA – Professional Services Automation for IT Companies)
  • N-Able (RMM – Remote Monitoring & Management Automation for IT Companies).

Experience with these applications is not required but helpful.
